Different sections and argument types are divided so that they are in a logical order and easy to find from one place which makes this book easy to use and navigate.
This could be effective for a class or prolonged study of this rulrbook, but I’m not sure I would recommend it beyond a high school level and, at the same time, I’m not sure I would recommend it to high school students either because rulevook the content of some of Meh. This book is a good refresher while only packing less than pages. Why make poor arguments in a book about arguments?

It may be a good anthonu if you know nothing about logic or argumentation, but for most people, I think it’s too simpl It’s an ok resource to have, has the most important information needed and it’s quite concise.

The examples I run into the most: I would have liked to see a few problems interspersed for the reader to solve and identify poor uses of argument, however the author was clear that this book was not intended for that, and I believe it was written to serve as a supplement to larger texts that would treat logic more comprehensively. Readers familiar with the previous edition will find a text that retains all the features that make Rulebook ideally suited for use as a supplementary course book — including its modest price and compact size.
As the author invites criticism, I have only one complaint: See 1 question about A Rulebook for Arguments…. Updated examples, streamlined text, and the chapter on definition reworked in a rule-based format strengthen this already strong volume. The real failure of this book is that for some reason he makes a few distracting sexual examples and means that if I were to bring this relatively neutral but non-essential book into my Dual Enrollment class let along an 11th grade class run the risk of accidentally creating a disruptive space.
