Delftship problem with chine hulls. It seems that there is a problem with Delftship for chine hulls. There is always a red coloration along the chines in the development view. If everything is deleted except a single face, it can be made to be fully developable, no red at all. manula
But the same faces as part of a chined hull always show red along the chine. Which view does one believe? This happens on even the provided chine hull example.
And is it possible to reset the station positions?
I can never get them to match the original stations. The red along the chine simply means that the sheet material can’t be bent over a chine.

No chine, no red. Ignore it when assessing the developability of the face.
Thanks for the above, much appreciated. Might be a good idea if they put this in the manual, spent days trying to find out how to clear the ‘problem’ Do you know the best way of putting classic long keel with varying width into a 3D chine model in Delftship?.
I am working on an old Atkin chine schooner design, and they have a linear keel of varying width. At the moment I have just projected everything to the centerline, and will then put in an intersection vertical along the solid at the two major keel widths. Perhaps the rudder wizard will do the job, or put the keel on a second layer and try and pick up the intersection points?
I am trying to find the developed edges to lay a panel up for each hull surface, and it would help to get a real shape rather than skin out formers and then cut the final keel edge in place. Once you do that, extrude the edge downward and get the profile of the keel shaped properly, then extrude your final edge back to the centerline.
Freeship and Delftship
This essentially gives you a hollow keel in the shape of the one you want. If you wish to add weight to the keel then set the keel on a different layer and add thickness and weight in the layer properties.
This will help with your CG and allow you to trim the boat along with all of your other weight calculations.
