I loved the setting and the mood of the story and the unique unfolding of the romance between Henry and Kate. It is Wuthering Heights meets Little Women with a delicious must-read twist. It added to the atmosphere as Kate has to deal and try to solve her dilemma. I loved the flashback scenes, the light they shed on the characters of the book. Thursday, September 12, Blackmoore by Julianne Donaldson. I was going to get a book by Sarah M. And heart-wrenching, and lovely, and touching, and just so all around, pretty much, perfect? Donaldson does a delightful job of writing about the regency era without trying to rip off Jane Austen stories as her stories are uniquely her own. It is illogical and unreasonable. Edenbrooke has more comedic banter though, so you’ll like that too.

Juliannne writing is just gorgeous, and her choices of romantic scenes are incredibly well-thought. India, yes, but only after Kate has secured—and rejected—three marriage proposals.

Thanks for sharing, Lauren. Yes, her mother is a slut, her sisters are stupid, her friend Sylvia is a little vapid, and yes every single female character in this book was unbearable, but girl.

How the fuck do they focus, living so close to nature in the wild moors of England? And Regency of course, just makes it all the better. More rightly a historical novel with a grand romantic love-story. It makes the book feel like a soap opera in Regency clothes.

This one is a little bit moodier with juliannne tension.
